Kitesurfing championship in Alvor
The Portugal News - News from Portugal in English: "World Kitesurfing Championships held in Alvor
24/6/2006
This weekend the third stage of the World Kitesurfing Championships, the Portimo Kitesurf World Championships 2006, took place on Alvor beach and saw 40 of the world's best kite-surfers go head to head in an adrenalin-packed event.
Despite the delayed start, with participants and spectators waiting until almost 16h00, the wind still wasn't strong enough to ensure a second round of the Best Trick/Big Air competition. Therefore, the results, which are generally based on the height and level of difficulty to which the participants perform manoeuvres, were based on one single round instead of the normal two."
