"This posting is an offical posting from the IKO to update all UK kiteboarders of the staus of the IKO and the BKSA - Any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the IKO. www.ikointl.com The IKO (International Kiteboard Organization) and the BKSA (British Kite Boarding Association) are no longer working together to further the sport of kiteboarding. The IKO is working to develop and maintain universal international standards that apply to all countries and training programs. The BKSA has failed to develop a mutually agreeable partnership at this time that will benefit the kiteboarding community as a whole. The IKO will continue to be present in the UK and will further develop international standards and training programs independently of the BKSA. Instructor training programs offered by the BKSA will no longer include IKO instructor certification, and BKSA instructors are no longer recognized by the IKO. Please keep in mind: - IKO instructors are recognized world wide not just in the UK -giving broader employment opportunities - Any school in the UK wishing to host a ITC (Instructor Training Course) may do so, schools hosting an ITC earn up to 1400 GBP per ITC hosted - - You can be an IKO affiliated school without the BKSA - please contact the IKO if you would like to be an afflicted school - IKO will be having an independent rep in the UK - we will be seeking applicants and posting a position in the next few days. - All IKO courses will be updated to include UK specific content Any questions please do not hesitate to contact the IKO Ryan IKO General Manager www.ikointl.com"
